He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald D. Slaikeu and Alta Slaikeu (Duerst); his wife Gladys Kiley; and his brothers, Duane, Roger and James.
He is survived by: his children, Glenda Giese (John) of Des Moines, Scot Slaikeu (Colleen) of Dakota City, Kevin Slaikeu (Melissa) of Humboldt and Mark Slaikeu (Sandra) of Eagan; his uncle Dick Slaikeu of Eagle Grove; and his sisters-in-law, Doris Slaikeu of LaPorte City, Jeanette Slaikeu of Mora and Pat Barrick of Monona, Iowa.. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
