She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Michaelson and Annie Michaelson (Odson); her husband Warren H. Whipple; her children, Robert Detmering and Judith; and her siblings, Alma Kelling, Mildred Nervig, Fern Schultz, Herman and Teddy Michaelson.
She is survived by: her daughter Becky Gerritson of Sioux City; her daughter-in-law Jill Detmering of Osage; her grandchildren, Brandon Risetter (Cassie), Judith Black (Steve) and Rob Detmering III; and her great grandchildren, Payton, Cameron Risetter, Matthew and Ryan Detmering.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Faith United Methodist Church (107 N 4th St, Humboldt, IA 50548). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at the Union Cemetery (1951 16th Ave N, Humboldt, IA 50548).
