He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Bolkema and Winnie Bolkema (De Boer); his grandson Keith Drey; his siblings, Bernice Bolkema, Lucille Veltkamp (Henry), Johanna Van Gelder (Arvid), Kenneth Bolkema (Lucy), Marvin Bolkema (Nina), Leonard Bolkema and Leroy Bolkema; and also, Ken Kelderman and Arn Van Engen.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Feikema of Hull; his children, Allan of Sioux Center, Janna Bolkema of Sioux Center, Karen of Sioux Center, Curt De Koning of Sioux Center, Donna and Dan Drey of Winterset; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Winter (Jeremy), Jonathan Bolkema, Sara Vande Griend (Joel), Katie De Koning, Kristi De Koning, Dirk De Koning (Nicole Tubergen), Austin Drey and Marc Drey; his great grandchildren, Henry, Joanna Winter, Brendan and Whitleigh Vande Griend; his brother Norman Bolkema (Bess) of Phoenix, Arizona; his sister-in-law Elaine Bolkema of Rock Valley; and also, Karolyn Van Engen of Sioux Center, Marge Van Surksum (Bill) of Sheldon, Ann Feikema of Sioux Falls, Arlene Stellinga (Art) of Rock Valley, Casey Feikema (Rose) of Luverne, Minnesota and Lori Bruxvoort (Ron) of Longmont, Colorado..
