He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Kroese and Alberta Kroese (Brummel); his brothers, Albert I. Kroese (Eleanor), Hilmore Kroese and Irvin Kroese; and his brother-in-law Ken Ludema.
He is survived by: his former spouse Hendrene Te Slaa; his wife Harriet De Groot Hulstein; his children, Galen of Hull, Connie Kroese of Hull, Shari of Hull and Jarvis De Wild of Hull; his grandchildren, Ryan Kroese (Christine), Marcus Kroese, Jeremy De Wild, Jonathan De Wild (Kaitlyn), Jeffrey De Wild (Jennifer) and Sarah (Cody De Jager); his great grandchildren, Blake, Austin, Makenzie De Wild, Whitley De Jager, Hudson Kroese, Lorna and Bob Leavitt of Marcus; his stepgrandchildren, Tonya (Sergei Vlasik), Sean Hatfield (Kendra), Jessica Leavitt, Clay Leavitt (Kate) and Grant Leavitt (Rachel); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Harper, Alex Vlasik, Luke Hatfield, Jack, Gus Leavitt and Grayson Leavitt; his sisters, Jo Ludema of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Belle (Ken Draayer) of Hull; his sisters-in-law, Lavonne Kroese of Hull and Agnes Kroese of Grand Rapids; and also, Lynn and Quentin Hatfield of Germantown, Wisconsin.
