She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Griend and Gertrude Vande Griend (Zwagerman); her husband Adolph Bylsma; her granddaughter Kelsey Van Den Berg; her siblings, Nellie (Steve Van Iperen), Peter (Dorothy Vande Griend), Jake (Josephine Vande Griend), Jessie Vande Griend and Bertha Vande Griend; and also, Arie, Mina, Frank Gerritsen, Peter, Jeanette Bylsma, Percy, Alice Bylsma, Lawrence, Julia Bylsma, Irene and Harry Sheng.
She is survived by: her daughters, Judy (Ned Douma), MaryLou (Larry Wielenga), Betty (Larry De Jong) and Amy (Dave Van Den Berg); her grandchildren, Ryan and Barb Douma; her great grandchildren, Isabelle and Ethan; her grandchildren, Chris and Amber Douma; her great grandchildren, Kaden, Emerson and Perry; her grandchildren, Rebecca Jacobs, Vance Dunn, Dawn and Ben Tyler; her great grandchildren, Maddie, William and Gracie; her grandchildren, Rachel and Tom Van Hofwegen; her great grandchildren, Tessa, Cole and Sydney; her grandchildren, Angela and John Glasser; her great grandchildren, Isaac, Eli and Jerica; her grandchildren, Brandon De Jong and Erin Healy; her great grandchildren, Harrison and Pearl; her grandchildren, Jamie and Joseph Borick; her great grandchildren, Luke and Ezra; and her grandchildren, Bruce and Shaunnah Van Den Berg. She is also survived by four daughters, ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Berdena was a life-long supporter of Christian education and wished memorials to be directed to the Hull Christian School or Western Christian High School.
