He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Whiting and Lena Whiting (Van Fossen); and his siblings, Betty Rawson, Paul and Lloyd Whiting.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Whiting of Hubbard; his daughters, Janet Mannetter (David) of Hubbard, Lorrie Burkey (Steven) of Springfield and Peggy Barnes (Jon) of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; his granddaughters, Heidi Mannetter (Matthew Butler) of Des Moines, Traci Nessa (Joshua) of Colo, Katie Zoske (Eli) of St. Anthony, Melanie Umbdenstock (Joshua) of Swisher, Jill Nestor (Shane) of Las Vegas and Jennifer DuBois (Adam) of Marion; his brother David Whiting (Mary); and his sister-in-law Lois Schlotterbeck. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Karl's memory may be directed to the family.
