Donald Shannon Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Shannon of Houghton, Iowa, who passed away on December 9, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Shannon and Fronie Shannon of Keota; his wife Joann "Jo" Shannon; and his brother Jim. He is survived by: his brother Ed; his stepchildren, Sherry Boeding (Steve), Steve (Jennifer), Cindy Hagan (Doug) and Sue Thomas (Eric); his grandchildren, Amanda Merta (Travis), Sam Boeding (Shari), Shane Boeding (Lydia), Jordan Freske (Adam), Tyler Gunn, Stephanie Hagan (Doug Carmody), Matt Hagan, Avery, Lauren and Lexi Thomas; and his great grandchildren, Jaxson, Briggs Merta, Rowan and Riley Boeding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Houghton Fire Department.
