Beatrice Agnes Schmit Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Beatrice Agnes Schmit of Hospers, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 12, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Bange and Marcella Bange (Pohlen); her husband Harold Schmit; her siblings, Gregory Bange, Paul Bange, Dennis Bange, Loretta Jurotich (John) and Mary Ann Bange; and her in-laws, Jerry Spresterbach, Bernice Block (Oscar), Sylvester Schmit (Germaine), Lucy DeRoos (Dewain), Elanore Marie Schmit, George Kersten, Neal Den Hartog and Clarice Schmit.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Schmit (Deb) of Alton, IA, Christopher Schmit (Ruth Ann) of Hospers, IA, Ann McMurray (Cliff) of Kansas City, MO, Richard Schmit (Deanna) of Omaha, NE, Kenneth Schmit (Pam) of Hospers, IA and James Schmit (Joan) of Hospers, IA; her sister Louise Spresterbach of Eureka, MO.; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Bange of Jefferson City, MO., Betty Bange of O'Fallon, MO, Jerry Den Hartog of Hospers, IA. and Cyril Schmit of Remsen, IA. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (500 Elm St, Hospers, IA 51238). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of gifts and flowers the family requests that memorials be directed to Brian Schmit to be used for things he needs in the seminary.
