He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert P. Schuster and Isabel Schuster (Sperfslage); his sisters, Linda Schuster and Amy Schuster; and his father-in-law Kenneth "Dutch" Nauman.

He is survived by: his wife Renee Nauman; his children, Scott Schuster of Cascade, Shannon Santamaria-Schuster (Paco) of Elizabeth, NJ, Olivia Carrizales (Joshua) of Iowa City, Sophia Schuster of Waterloo, Vivian Schuster and Roman Schuster of Hopkinton; his grandchildren, Elijah Carrizales and Naomi Santamaria-Schuster; his siblings, Peter Schuster (Janet) of Waterloo, Paul Schuster (Cathy) of Hopkinton, Robert Schuster of Hopkinton, Cynthia Schuster of Parker, CO and Lorraine Schuster of Cedar Falls; and his in-laws, Rhonda Nauman of Epworth, Roxanne Andersson (Per) of Racine, WI, Rachelle Dragon (Jean) of Deforest, WI, Rick Nauman (Trish) of Durango, Bob Nauman (Kim) of Iowa City, Joel Nauman (Lisa) of Bettendorf, Tim Nauman of Cascade, Todd Nauman (Petrina) of Iowa City, Shawn Nauman of Davenport, April Frazier (Tom) of Bolingbrook, IL, Casey Nauman (Jennifer) of Cedar Rapids and Chase Nauman of Cedar Rapids.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at the St. Paul Catholic Church (301 3rd Ave, Worthington, IA 52078). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Saint Paul Cemetery (32676 Sand Springs Rd, Worthington, IA 52078).
