She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Bacon and Florence Bacon; her son David; her great grandchild Savvy Ferentz; her siblings, Ione Himebaugh, V. J. Stadtmueller, Lorraine Bacon and Gene Bacon; and her husband Alfred Melchert.
She is survived by: her children, Doug Melchert (Lynne) of Hopkinton, Chuck Melchert (Becky) of Hopkinton, Gary Melchert (Cindy) of Hopkinton, Nancy Uden (Jeff) and Stan Melchert (Regan McCarthy) of Geneseo, IL.; her daughter-in-law Cheryl Melchert; and her sister-in-law Marie Recker. She is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 23 great-Grandchildren with another great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hopkinton Library, Hopkinton Meal Service, Delaware County Historical Society or Camp Courageous.
