He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Smith and Bernadette Smith (McElmeel); his siblings, Maxine Zangerle (Kenny), Shirley Riniker (Dick) and Gary Smith (Marilyn); and his son-in-law Robert "Bob" Ronnebaum.
He is survived by: his siblings, Janaan Kraus (Walter), Kay Heitz (Elmer), John Smith (MaryAnn), Betty Ries (Jerry), MaryEllen Waite and Mark Smith (Mary); his wife Catherine "Cathy" Smith (Rink); his grandson Kenny; his daughter Shelia; and his grandchildren, Anna Ronnebaum, Ethan Ronnebaum (Lauren), Jena (Matt Finn), Zachary, Mitch, Devin, Colin Smith, Jack, Pierce, Ipper Smith, Maya, Owen Smith, Ever and Fielding Botos. He is also survived by his children, his children's friends, nieces, nephews and his grandchildren.
Because of COVID-19 concerns, masks are strongly recommended at both the funeral home and at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, wear some bibs, drive a tractor, drink some beer, laugh out loud, call your children just because, dance until you can't dance anymore and love unconditionally.
