It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mick Gary Hammer of Holstein, Iowa, who passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Hammer and Rachel Spotts Hammer; and his mother-in-law Helen Cranston Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Leanne Kay Johnson; his daughters, Christy Hammer and Angie Rasmus (Cody); his siblings, Mark Hammer (Londa) and Marvel Hammer (Scott Hompland); his grandchildren, Lincoln, Paxton, Kenlin and Annison; his father-in-law Ramon Johnson (Ginny); his siblings-in-law, Joni, Randy and Amy Adams (Susan Smith); and his nieces and nephews, Molly McCormack (Alan), Marissa Miller, Tory Adams, Logan Hammer and Tanner Adams. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holstein United Methodist Church (208 S Kiel St, Holstein, IA 51025). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be directed to: the Holstein United Methodist Church, Holstein Kiwanis or the Lohff Schumann Community Center.
