He was predeceased by: his siblings, Keith Hopkins and Pauline Thoren; his son-in-law Cary Coole of Houston, TX.; and his parents, Delbert Hopkins and Lillian Hopkins.

He is survived by: his children, Dennis (Sue), David (Lyn) and Debra; and his wife Kathryn Johnson (Kay). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
