He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Spies and Jean Spies (Rohwer); his siblings, Diane Kessler and Dean Spies; and his grandson Marley.
He is survived by: his wife Deb; his children, Dusty Spies (Katie), Matthew Langguth (Cait), Whitney McDowell (Shane) and Stephanie Langguth-Kalisch; his nephew Brent Bell; his siblings, Jim Spies (Carol), Connie Daluisio (Tony), Bob Spies (Sue), Ronnie Spies, Gary Spies, Bonnie Merritts-Meier (Mark) and Dick Spies (Jan); his sister-in-law Karen Oliver (Chuck); and his father-in-law Bo (Duane Dierks). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (311 5th Ave, Clarence, IA 52216). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
