It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Suellen K. Flynn of Hiawatha, Iowa, born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who passed away on May 4, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Karal and Marie Karal (Neuhaus); and her father-in-law Kevin Flynn. She is survived by: her son Chris; her husband Jim; her son Christopher Flynn of Hiawatha; her siblings, Mike Karal (Dianne) of Cedar Rapids, Karen Colbert (Jim) of Ames and Beth Hamilton (Brad) of Fairfax; her mother-in-law Norma Flynn of Chicago; and her sisters-in-law, Karen Ryerson of Chicago, Mary Bansley of Chicago and Nancy Flynn of California. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She served the community as a volunteer and spent many years getting food donations from businesses to give to local nonprofit agencies that help people needing food. Memorial contributions can be directed to Green Square Meals, 605 2nd Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa or a charity of your choice.
