He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew "Bud" Wheeler and Ethel Wheeler (Gatenbien); his wife Edie; his siblings, Jan Wheeler, Robert "Bob" Wheeler and Richard "Dick" Wheeler; and his brothers-in-law, Robert "Bob" Cook and Norman "Norm" Cook.
He is survived by: his children, Rob Wheeler of Wisconsin, Rick Wheeler (Barb) of Michigan and Renee Koopman (Andy) of Iowa; his grandchildren, Tim (Mallory) and Erin (Dillon); his great grandchildren, Willow and Emmett; and his sisters-in-law, Donna Wheeler of Iowa, Luralea Wheeler of Oregon and Joyce Cook of Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cedar Rapids Bowling Association or Hiawatha Fire Department.
