He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Russell and Violet Marie Brown (King); his son Allen Brown; his grandchildren, Kimberly Brown and Rusty Brown; and his brothers-in-law, LaVern Langreck, Conley Schweinefus and Dwight Sorensen.

He is survived by: his wife Suzan Schweinefus of Hiawatha; his daughter Kathy Brown of Fairfax; his sister Joyce Langreck of Decorah; his daughter-in-law Julie Brown of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Stephanie Downey (Stephen), Sydney Hovey (Ryan), Rebecca Wagner (Ryan), Hunter Garnica (Andrew), Savannah Brown, Haley Dietrich, Allen Brown and Ruger Alberts; his great grandchildren, Brieanna, Ravyn, Brayden, Skyler, Aliva, Briar, Cainen and Brekken; and his great great grandchild Zak. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
