He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Sowers and Edith Sowers (Rumsey); his wife Mary "Frances" Sowers; and his brothers, Lee, Fred and Carroll Sowers.
He is survived by: his children, Alan Sowers (Paige) of Dallas Center, IA, Sally Shearer (Stan) of Glenwood, IA and Paul Sowers (Cindy Murray) of Henderson, IA; his granddaughter Chelsea Sowers of London, England; his children, Nicole Stamer (Reid) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jacob Sowers of Chicago, IL, Chase Sowers of Des Moines, IA, Bradley Shearer (Morgan) of Omaha, NE and Natalie Bryson (Joe) of Omaha, NE; his great grandchild Magnolia Bryson of Omaha, NE; his brother Bryan Sowers of Henderson, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Arthur "Bud" Elkins (Bonnie) of Emerson, IA, Keith Elkins (Sandra) of San Angelo, TX and Rose Stogsdill of Henderson, NV. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
