He is survived by: his former spouse Jean Heckethorn; his children, Tommy Spalla of Lockridge and Nikki Rude (Chris) of Fairfield; his former wife Rose Hird; his sons, Jeremy Hird (Brenda) of Fairfield, Joe Hird (Melody) of Libertyville and Bill Hird of Lockridge; and his siblings, John, Herb, Tony, Veronica, Mary, Stella and Jean. He is also survived by his children; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
