He was predeceased by: his parents, Duane Paul and Ida Mae Schommer (Houpt). He is survived by: his former spouse Beverly Kay Ernst; his wife Bev Schommer of Hazleton; his sons, Bob Schommer of Oelwein and Brett Schommer (Amy) of Independence; his grandchildren, Whitney, Andrew, Brandon, Blake and Elizabeth; his great grandchildren, Eli, Addi and Lylah; and his siblings, Darrell Schommer of Angleton, Diane Van Laningham (Terry) of Hazleton, Denise Leathers (Steve) of Urbana and Don Schommer (Amanda) of Sterling, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks are suggested at the visitation and service.
