With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Ann Olander of Hawarden, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 12, 2025 at the age of 78. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Bernard Weyer and Betty Weyer (Harkness); her husband Joe Olander of Sioux City; her children, Julie Swenson (Keith) of Sibley, Matt Dowling (Julie) of Sioux Falls and Sarah Liston (Rob Christiansen) of Ireton, Iowa; her stepchildren, Jeff Olander (Michelle) of Yukon and Amber Meseck (Chad) of Solon, Iowa; her grandchildren, Korbin Swenson (Sabrina), Erin Robinson (Jake), Kyle Dowling (Jessica), Kori Dowling (Hijke), Tayler (David), Cali and Carter Liston; her great grandchildren, Ariana Topete, Elaina Irizarry, Lailah, Mason Hobson, Harrison Dowling and Lucy Nance; her stepgrandchildren, Grant, Brenna Olander, Kayla, Chase Meseck, Abbagail Nance (Carter) and Callen Agan (Autumn); her siblings, Larry "Butch" Weyer (Sue) of Hawarden, Karon Smith of Flandreau, Kay Moller (Dennis) of Alcester, Scott Weyer of Phoenix and Mark Weyer (Pam) of Alcester; her birth mother Betty Weyer; her stepmother Myra Weyer (Doty); her brother Kevin Weyer; her siblings-in-law, Gary Smith, Merrill Tanderup, Barney Kuckta and Therese Olander; and her stepgranddaughter Bailee Olander.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Porter Funeral Home - Hawarden (712 10th St, Hawarden, IA 51023). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Hawarden United Methodist Church (803 13th St, Hawarden, IA 51023).
