She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson (Moeller); her husband Clarence Heuer of Valentine's Day; her sister Lorraine Wells; her nephew Larry Wells; her brother Roland Johnson; and her brother-in-law Willis Wells.
She is survived by: her children, Shari (Fred Koopmans) of Sioux Center and Randy Heuer (Pam) of Alcester; her grandchildren, Michele Dirkx (Brian) of Spencer, Michael Koopmans (Tammy) of Hinton, Jayson Koopmans (Carolina) of Mankato, Tara Shumansky (Todd) of Sioux City, Sara DeLay (Ben) of Beresford and Josh Homandberg (Molly) of Alcester; and her great grandchildren, Jenna Ambrose (Zach), Devin Dirkx, Caden, Kylie Koopmans, Carson, Jackson Koopmans, Jace, Aubrey, Mason Shumansky, Josie, Megan, Cooper DeLay, Lawson, Maci and Haddi Homandberg.
Phyllis wished for memorials to be directed to her church, Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS in Hawarden.
