He was predeceased by: his father Steven Lerdal; his grandparents, Merle, Madeline Lerdal, Norman and Myrtle Fuglsby; his aunts and uncles, Gary Lerdal, Ron Lerdal, Jewyll Sponheim and Joanne Lerdal; and his parents-in-law, William Baughfman and Mary Noethe.
He is survived by: his wife Robin Lerdal of Hawarden; his children, Matt Van Lo of Hopkins, Kendra Van Lo (Jody) of Hawarden, Cieara Blumeyer of Hawarden, Chris Blumeyer of Yankton and Austin; his grandchildren, Levi, Taylin and Piper; his mother Rev. Susan Benz (Ron) of Sioux Falls; his brothers, Scott Lerdal (Sherry) of Hull and Mark Lerdal (Chellsie) of Brookings; his brother-in-law Travis Baughfman of Sheldon, Iowa; his half-sister Kristen Scott (Jason) of Le Mars; and his nieces and nephews, Kaylee Strong (Johnny), Samantha Orton, Derrik Orton (Kayla), Zach Lerdal (Melanie), Isaac Lerdal, Logan Beitelspacher and Rylan Schmidt.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Porter Funeral Home - Hawarden (712 10th St, Hawarden, IA 51023). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
