With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Leone Ver Hoeven of Hawarden, Iowa, born in Ireton, Iowa, who passed away on August 8, 2021 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Anthony Ver Hoeven; her parent Henry; her stepfather Lester Riter; her sister Geraldine Van Bruggen; and her parents-in-law, Jake, Klasina Ver Hoeven, Gary, Loucella Barents, Bill, Dorothy Koopmans, Don, Marie Ver Hoeven, Clarence, Sadie Ver Hoeven and Marvin Ver Hoeven.
She is survived by: her children, Debrah Vander Kooi (Ben) and James (Glenda); her grandchildren, Bill Vander Kooi of St. Paul and Katrina (Andrew Wallmeyer) of St. Paul, Minnesota; her great grandchildren, Juliana, Peter and Vivian Wallmeyer; her sister Mary Magan (Michael) of Ada, Michigan; her close friends, Monty and Sue Terhune; her parents-in-law, Ted Van Bruggen of Seminole and Dorothy Ver Hoeven Olson of Hawarden, Iowa.; and also, George (Courtney) and Kathryn of Omaha, Nebraska..
The family prefers, in lieu of flowers, memorials be given in Helen's name to the First Reformed Church in Ireton or the West Sioux Educational Foundation.
