We are sad to announce that on December 9, 2023, at the age of 87, James Henry Hesse of Hartley, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Herman and Irene Hansen; his siblings, LeRoy Hesse (Carolyn Kay) and JoAnn Thomas; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Hesse, Carl Hansen and Rosanne Hansen.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Irene Hansen; his daughters, Jean Bichler (Kurt) of Pittsboro, NC, Carol (David Burns) of Medina, MN and Cynthia Lensch (Chad) of Ankeny, IA; his grandchildren, Morgan, Molly Swenson, Brandon Bichler (Samantha), Alexis and Ava Lensch; his brother Will K. Hesse; and his siblings-in-law, Phil Thomas, Jean Hansen and Paul Hansen (Shirley Klein). He is also survived by nephews and their families; cousins.
