She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Marion and Easter Violet Cannon (Mercer); and her sister Janice Rushing. She is survived by: her son Todd Cort; her granddaughters, Ella Mae Cort and Emma Kay Cort; and her brother Charles Cannon. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many other family members.

In lieu of flowers, it is Kathy's wish that memorial contributions be made to her adored granddaughters, Ella Mae and Emma Kay, to help them embark on God's calling for their young lives and endeavors.
