He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur L. "Roy" Rihner and Bertha "Bertie" Rihner (Messerschmidt). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Rihner of Shelby; his children, Lori Andersen (Darin) of Council Bluffs and Gale Rihner (Pamela) of Shelby; his grandsons, Garrett Andersen (Maci) of Ankeny, Jake Andersen of St. Louis, Ben Rihner of Oklahoma City and Josh Rihner of Shelby; and his great grandchild Olivia Andersen.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heartland Funeral Home (1401 Garfield Ave, Harlan, IA 51537). A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church (406 Antique City Dr, Walnut, IA 51577).
