It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary I. Schmitz (Harlan, Iowa), who passed away on August 11, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her children, Randy Schmitz (Julie) of Bettendorf, IA, Annette Schmitz of Harlan, IA, Neil "Spike" Schmitz (Judi) of Westphalia, IA, Leon Schmitz (Jan) of Parkville, MO and Scott Schmitz (Linda) of Windsor, CO; her son-in-law Steve Kenkel of Earling, IA; and her sister Elaine Goetz of Harlan, IA.. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
