It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Belle Pokorny in Harlan, Iowa, born in Turin, Iowa, who passed away on October 25, 2022, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Viggo Dausel and Anna Kathrina Nielsen Dausel; her husband Andrew Louis Pokorny; her brothers, Walter, John Harlen, Leo, Floyd and Viggo Dausel (Ike); her son Thomas Jerome Pokorny; and her granddaughter Jennifer Marie Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Marie Elizabeth Pokorny (Robert Thompson) of Greenville, NC, Catherine Ann (James Lewis) of Coralville, IA, Philip Andrew Pokorny (Patricia) of Gladstone and Paul Joseph Pokorny (Erin Swanson) of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by six grandchildren, twelve great-children, two step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
