As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Marlin may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Petersen (Bruck) of Michael's Catholic Church. He is survived by: his stepson Steve Obrecht (Jill) of Harlan; his grandchildren, Lance of Harlan, Levi of Harlan, Lauren of Harlan and Logan Obrecht of Harlan; his sister Donna Nelson of Ames; his niece Kristin Nelson (James Leach) of Detroit, Michigan; and his nephew Ross Nelson of Sebastopol, California.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heartland Funeral Home (1401 Garfield Ave, Harlan, IA 51537). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church (1010 Umbrella Rd, Harlan, IA 51537).
