She was predeceased by: her father Garry Kafton; and her brother Michael Kafton. She is survived by: her mother Linda Kafton (Benge) of Harlan, Iowa; her children, David (Jennifer) of Slater, Iowa, Matthew (Melissa) of Greenwood, Indiana, Zachary (Madison), Luke of North Charleston and Grace of Harlan, Iowa; her grandchildren, JJ, Mariah, Wyatt, Oliver and Samuel; her siblings, Kaja Shinn (Julie) of Texas and John Kafton (Judi) of Idaho; her sister-in-law Wanda Kafton of Virginia; and her former husband Alan Schmitz. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
