He was predeceased by: his parents, Micheal Ambrose and Isabelle Mary Stein (Foxhoven); his wife Diane; his in-laws, Howard and Olga Sorenson; and his siblings, Martha, Cecilia, Bernard, Raymond, Frances and Mary.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Stein of Harlan, Dawn Winnett (Bill) of Harlan and Marty Stein (Angela) of Denison; his grandchildren, Holly Stinn (Justin) of Harlan, Morgan Stahl (Branden Mapes) of Harlan, Michael Stein of Audubon, Matthew Stein (Savanna) of Cedar Falls, Hannah Schroeder (Tyler) of Waterloo and William Winnett (Kayla Shepherd) of Fairbanks; his great grandchildren, Anna of Harlan, Isabelle of Harlan, Jacob of Harlan and Harris of Harlan; and his siblings, Nick Stein of Kalispell and Marlene Butts of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Harlan Cemetery (911 12th St, Harlan, IA 51537).
