He is survived by: his children, Deborah (Pat Groth) of Harlan, Iowa, Larry (Kathy Schaben) of Omaha, Nebraska, Connie Schaben of Omaha, Nebraska and Gary (Jackie Schaben) of Portsmouth, Iowa; his grandchildren, Brooke (Quinn Wilson), Taylor Schaben, Logan Schaben and Morgan Schaben; his great grandchild Sage Wilson; his siblings, Ruth Weis of Defiance, Iowa, Paul (Jane Schaben) of Carroll, Iowa, Bernard Schaben (Ann) of Montgomery, Texas, Dan (Georgene Schaben) of Harlan, Henry (Colleen Schaben) of Omaha, Nebraska, Mary Campbell of Denison, Iowa, Mike (Jeannie Schaben) of Defiance, Iowa and Rose (Richard Ditter) of Florida; and his sister-in-law Cindy Schaben of Los Angeles, California.. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
