It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrell Gross of Harlan, Iowa, born in Shelby, Iowa, who passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Gross and Ruth M. Gross (Feser); and his siblings, Lorraine Lusero and Allen Gross. He is survived by: his children, Amanda Simon (Bob) of Harlan, Adam Gross (Laura) of Omaha and Alex Gross (Samantha) of Lincoln, NE; his siblings, Pat Leuschen (Gene) of Panama, Gaylord "Joe" Gross (Gail) of Earling and Joanne Oppold (Frank) of Dunlap; his siblings-in-law, John Lusero of Kansas City, MO and Diane Gross of Holton, KS; and his goddaughter Allison Bruck (Tyler) of Earling. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Heartland Funeral Home - Harlan Chapel (1401 Garfield Ave, Harlan, IA 51537). A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph's Cemetery.
