He is survived by: his wife Karla Hansen; his siblings, Wayne Gessert of Council Bluffs, Dale Gessert of Tennant, Diane Derby of Harlan, Kathy Kelly (John) of Harlan, Marcia Albertsen (Tom) of Harlan, Randall Gessert of Harlan, Darwin Gessert (Mary) of Harlan, Beverly Heilig (Gary) of Minden, Dean Gessert (Deb) of Harlan and Donna Gessert (Jeff Mayne) of Harlan, Iowa; and his sisters-in-law, Mickie Gessert of Harlan and Sue Gessert of Elk Horn, Iowa. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
