He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph E. Berry and Mildred Berry (Van Every); his daughter Jennifer Healey; and his brothers, Mike and Pat Berry.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Varrelmann of Hampton; his son Steve Berry (Rhonda) of West Branch; his grandchildren, Blake Heikes of Urbandale, Drake Berry of West Branch, Taylan Healey of Hampton and Grace Healey of Hampton; his son-in-law Daryl Healey of Hampton; and his brother-in-law Giles Varrelmann (Deb) of Hampton.
