It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Allen Koenen of Hampton, Iowa, who passed away on September 6, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Koenen and Esther Koenen (Blau); his in-laws, Bernie and Mo Stech; his brothers-in-law, Bob Heilskov and Corwin Carnahan; and his nephew Steve Carnahan.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Koenen of Hampton; his daughters, Roxie Koenen of Marion and Amber Peterson (Todd) of Center Point; his grandchildren, Madison Korth (Andrew Benning) of Cedar Rapids, Taylor Peterson of Cedar Rapids, Kennedy Korth (Connor Ulven) of Waukee, Brooklyn Shada (Logan) of Cedar Falls, James Peterson (Isabell) of Ames and Cash Peterson of Center Point; his great grandchild Willow Shada; his siblings, Marge Carnahan of Des Moines and Harlan Koenen (Sharon) of Daytona, Florida; and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Heilskov of Coralville, Bill Stech (Sue) of Altoona and Terry Stech (Jimmie) of Lexington, Kentucky. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
