He was predeceased by: his parents, EJ Akers and Anna Akers. He is survived by: his sons, Eric (Gina), Adam (Deb) and Joel (Jean); his wife Sharon (Schomer); his sisters, Barbara (Gary), Kline (Bismarck), Marcia (Roger) and Dudden; his grandchildren, Chelsea (Bryan), Loftus, Isabell Akers, Nick Davis, Samantha Akers and Cole Akers; and his great grandchildren, Garrett and Danica Loftus. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
