With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lester Pettyjohn of Hamilton, Iowa, born in Knoxville, Iowa, who passed away on October 29, 2023 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Mae Mavin and Charles Arthur Pettyjohn; his father-in-law Charles "Chuck"; his brothers, Orval D. Pettyjohn, Leland "Cocky" Pettyjohn, Larry Pettyjohn, Irvin Pettyjohn and Mitchell "Mitch" Pettyjohn; his siblings-in-law, David "Moe" Sytsma, Arlene Pettyjohn, Diane Pettyjohn and Karen Pettyjohn; and his pet Chance.

He is survived by: his wife Debra Pettyjohn of Hamilton; his children, Jason Pettyjohn of Hamilton, Justin Pettyjohn of Des Moines, Tasha Whye (Ben) of Ames, Kristy Clemens of Grimes, Katie Popson (Kyle) of Albia, Elizabeth Galeazzi (Jay) of Knoxville and Joshua Pettyjohn of Hamilton; his grandchildren, Alayna, Gavin, Elissa, Beckah, Mikeal, Brayden, Hazel, Huxton, Gabriella "Gabby", Kole, Logun, Bella, Nova, Tucker, Dexter, Harlan, Kelby and Carter; and his siblings, Judy Sytsma and Albert "Buck" Pettyjohn (Cindy).
