He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard V. Sr. Wheeler and Helen Wheeler (Andrew); his wife Joanne Nelson; his brothers, Hobert "Hobe" and Keith Wheeler; and his siblings-in-law, Elaine Wheeler, Becky Nelson and Richard "Dick" Behrends.
He is survived by: his children, Shari Wheeler of Shenandoah, IA, Bruce Wheeler, Michael Wheeler (Liv) of Hamburg, IA and Jamie Wheeler of Hamburg, IA; his sister Mary Helen Behrends of Stella, NE; and his siblings-in-law, Joan Wheeler of Stella, NE, Norma Stinson of Tecumseh, NE and Jerry Nelson of Verdon, NE. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
