He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Dean and Mattie Belle Hopping (Anderson); his sister Doris Roof of Thurman; and his daughter Janet. He is survived by: his wife Anita Joyce Scott; his children, Melinda Simonsen (Jim) of Norfolk and Mark Hopping (Susan) of Council Bluffs; his grandchildren, Tyler Hopping, Katie Hopping and Bruce Simonsen (Kamea); his great grandchild Pyper Simonsen; and his sister Betty Dooley (Duane) of Olathe, Kansas. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
