She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank C. Shelton and Essie Lillian Shelton (Wheeler); her husband William Charles Petry; her brothers, Carl Jack and Francis "Pete"; her half-brother Ralph; her sisters, Betty Lou and Patty Jean; and her half-sister Carmen.

She is survived by: her great-nieces, Lily and Sophie; her sisters, Sharon Fox (Charlie) of Hamburg, IA, Wilma Howard of Atascadero, CA and Marlene Waller of Charlotte, NC; her nieces and nephews, Debbie, Dona, Kevin, Mark, Monica, Elizabeth, Sandra, Chuck, Bill, Jody, Terry, Shelley, Stefanie, Shane, Veronica, Paige, Derrick, Michael and Ralph; and her close friends, Mary Widman and Rose Biggs.
