She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Stellmacher and Katie Stellmacher (Bechmann); her husband Elmer Ashman; her grandsons, Rhett and Rillian Ashman; her brothers, Carlton Stellmacher (Dorothy) and Leroy; and her in-laws, Erna Ashmann, Albert Ashmann (Joyce), Walter Ashman and Paul Ashman, Jr..
She is survived by: her sons, Dan Ashman, Dave Ashman, Steve Ashman (Rhonda) and Mike Ashman; her grandchildren, Paul (Emily), Danielle (Jeremy), Tina, Ryan (Amber), Katie (Michael), Stacie (Alex), Amber (Nick) and Raissa (Jared); and her sister-in-law Margaret Ashmann. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Vera's memory may be given to Crossing Rivers Hospice in Prairie du Chien, WI, Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, or St. Paul and St. John Lutheran Church in Guttenberg, Iowa.
