It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Lou Klein of Guttenberg, Iowa, born in Rickardsville, Iowa, who passed away on August 10, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, August Fortmann and Elizabeth Fortmann (Feldmann); her husband Alfred Klein; her brothers, Lavern Fortmann, Bernard Fortmann and Robert Fortmann; her son-in-law Merl Meyer; and her parents-in-law, Edmund, Susan Klein, Melvin Klein and Cletus Klein.
She is survived by: her children, James Klein (Carol), Carol Hampton (Dave), Doris Meyer (late Merl), Paul Klein, Peter Klein, Ronald Klein (Regan) and Kenneth Klein (Tonya); and her mothers-in-law, Judy Fortmann, Marie Klein, Lois Klein and Rosemary Faulhaber (John). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
