With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Gale Van Meter (Guthrie Center, Iowa), born in Faucett, Missouri, who passed away on March 20, 2018 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Richard; his parents, Cecil Meter and Dena Van Meter; his brother Cecil Van Meter; and his nephews, Gordon Meter and Steven Van Meter.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his children, Charles Van Meter (Sue) of Guthrie Center and Carolyn Van Meter (John Sloss) of Jupiter; his grandchildren, John (Jennifer), Nicholas (Melissa), Eric (Melia), Matthew (Deanna), Sara (James), Tyler (Sandra) and Emily (Lee); his great grandchildren, Reagan, Jack, Rachel, Madison, Olivia, Emerson, Paige, Cole, Lexie, Jackson and Jameson; his sister-in-law Helen Van Meter; and his daughter-in-law Nancy Van Meter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Bowman Chapel Methodist Church or the Guthrie County Hospital.
