He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar E. and Nora R. Hughes (Gilmore); and his sister Doris Whisler. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hughes of Panora; his children, Darrell Hughes (Deborah) of Dallas Center and Arlone Humphreys (Mark) of Panora; his grandchildren, Carson, Chelsea Hughes and Lindsay Taylor (Doug); his great grandchildren, Camber, Brecken, Tucker and Emerson Taylor; and his sister Dolores Roland of Ames.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the Panora Public Library, Hospice of the Midwest, Tori's Angels, Panora Food Bank, or a charity of your choice in his name.
