He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrel Cordes and Carolyn Cordes (Strong); his former wife Carmen Cordes; his sister Hope Cordes; and his brother-in-law Howard Brooks.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Witkay of Guernsey; his children, Jeff Cordes (Brenda) of Pella, Ken Cordes (Heather) of Guernsey, Angela Hofer (Chris) of South Dakota and Kevin Cordes (Sandy) of Sully; his grandchildren, Levi, Garrett, Coby, Ashlan, Baze, Zane Cordes, Tristan, Ethan, Aidan and Amelia Hofer; and his sisters, Diane Brooks of Arizona, Janice Fink (Mike) of Omaha and Miriam Bybee (Bill) of Omaha. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
