He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Louis and Harmena Pauline Schell (Kadous); his sister Cindy Schell; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Hazel Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Schell of Grundy Center; his children, Kristi Schell of Grundy Center, Kimberly Loy (Matthew) of Grundy Center and Matthew Schell of Grundy Center; his siblings, Randy "Red" Schell (Glenda) of Clarksville, Patty Schell of Parkersburg and Tammy Schell (Rod Richardson) of Aplington; his siblings-in-law, Tom Lewis (Becky), Mike Lewis (Stacy), Diane Dean and Linda Donavan (Mick); and his close friend Dave Cutsforth (Virginia) of Waterloo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
