He is survived by: his children, Susan Geiken (Marv) of Dike, Jean Sternhagen (Roger) of Grundy Center, Kathy Begley of Reinbeck and William "Bill" Van Deest (Julie) of Decatur; his grandchildren, Kelli McWilliams (Tyler), Taylor Williams, Christine Geiken, Chelsea Begley (Austin), Carissa Schmadeke (Nathan), Justin Troutner (Christina) and Daniel Van Deest; his great grandchildren, Kianna McWilliams, Brynn McWilliams, Declan McWilliams, Clara Bailey, Grace Begley, Sophie Begley, Warren Schmadeke, Wilson Troutner and Harper Van Deest; his sister Carolyn Lenguadoro; and his siblings-in-law, Tom Teasdale (Marge), Tootie Teasdale and Esther Van Deest. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a large host of friends.
Masks are recommended but not required for unvaccinated individuals.
