With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Waldo S. Walker of Grinnell, Iowa, born in Fayette, Iowa, who passed away on August 28, 2020 at the age of 89. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Waldo S. Walker to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Waldo Sylvester, Sr. and Mildred Kathleen Walker (Littelle); and his sister Lorraine Lovin. He is survived by: his former wife Marie J. Olsen; his wife Rita Walker of Grinnell; his daughters, Martha Sheffield (Art) of San Antonio, TX and Gayle Walker (David) of Westerville, OH; and his stepdaughter Sara Thompson (John) of Grinnell. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Due to the Covid-19 virus, a private family burial will be held.

Memorials may be designated to Krumm Preserve or the St. Francis Manor Foundation (proceeds to be used for tree replacement).

In addition to his other accomplishments as a scientist and administrator, he was a treasure trove of Grinnell College history. He accomplished a major research project on the architectural history of the College, but it was his vast memory of events from his experience that unfolded in numberless informative, interesting, and amusing anecdotes that delighte”
